AWO Video Calls to End the Jones Act Waiver, Showcases U.S. Maritime Workforce

The American Waterways Operators is the advocate, resource, and united voice of the American tugboat, towboat and barge industry — citizen mariners who deliver the cargo that U.S. communities depend on every day. These American mariners provide reliability, stability, and security on our nation’s waterways.

The overly broad, historically lengthy Jones Act waiver now in effect undermines that mission.

American maritime workers are already delivering for the country. When global conflict drives up foreign shipping costs, they provide dependable, U.S.-controlled capacity. The law already allows targeted waivers when needed. A blanket waiver sends the wrong signal to American workers, vessel operators, and investors.

Tell your members of Congress to end the Jones Act waiver and stand with American maritime workers. Write to Congress here.
