The Fall Convention & Board of Directors Meeting offers AWO members the chance to discuss industry and association issues, hear from key industry leaders, and network with fellow AWO members. In particular, we encourage all member attendees to stay for the Board Meeting on Friday. As a member-led association, it is vital that every member take a responsible role in the governance of the Association. The Board Meeting is open to all members of AWO.
This year the Fall Convention will also celebrate the 75th anniversary of AWO. It provides an opportunity to reflect on the many achievements we've had with the support and dedication of our members since our conception in 1944. This milestone marks the continued success of efforts to work together and highlight our combined accomplishments. We'll also look ahead to the future, and discuss ideas and issues facing the tugboat, towboat, and barge industry in the years to come.
The upcoming convention boasts a keynote address from VADM Linda Fagan, USCG Pacific Area Commander. Attendees can also look forward to an address from and dialogue with RDML Richard Timme; a panel review of emerging industry technology and future insights; a presentation on what we can learn about safety best practices from other industries; a discussion on the evolution of the BargeEx program; and much more!
Please note that AWO events are open to all AWO members; you must be an employee of an AWO member company to attend. We encourage all employees of member companies to attend!
