Deregulatory Action Items

AWO is committed to ensuring that the federal regulatory regime governing the tugboat, towboat, and barge industry provides for a high level of safety, security, and environmental protection while allowing our members’ businesses to succeed, preserving our industry’s economic efficiency, and facilitating the free flow or maritime commerce.

 

To maximize the opportunity of the Trump Administration’s effort to eliminate unnecessary, unlawful, unduly burdensome, or unsound federal regulations, we have developed a list of recommended deregulatory action items that we have shared with the White House Office of Management and Budget and our federal agency partners, including the Coast Guard. The list is informed by feedback from AWO members and prioritized from highest to lowest impact according to guidance from the Board of Directors.
